Bercomac, our humble beginings…
Bertrand Vachon, one of the founders was always passionate about developing tools or equipment to facilitate chores for the end user. From his debut in the work force, his passion along with his love of the land inspired him to invent and develop a wide variety of equipment during his career. His talent was quickly recognized by his peers and so he naturally became a self-made business man.
Mr. Vachon, fueled by his overflowing imagination created “Bercomac Limitée” which began building log loaders and trailers. This small enterprise which was initially a pass-time quickly became busier and busier. They now employed 5 full time employees for 6 years. However, Mr. Vachon, being already well invested in another venture decides to sell the line of log loaders to one of his employees and the trailer portion to another company who went under the name of “Équipements Hardy” at the time. He nevertheless decides to keep the trademark and the company name.
